Mid-Level AI Automations Engineer
Overview
Job Summary: We are seeking a mid-level AI Automations Engineer with strong foundation in backend development and hands-on experience building AI-powered automation systems. The ideal candidate combines solid programming fundamentals with practical knowledge of LLMs, intelligent agents, and custom workflow orchestration to create robust, scalable automation solutions.
This role focuses on designing and implementing AI-driven automation systems using our custom orchestration platform. You'll leverage large language models, document processing, and intelligent agents to automate complex business workflows, particularly in healthcare authorization and case management. This position requires both backend engineering skills and AI/LLM expertise to build production-grade automation solutions.

Specific Skills
- 2–4 years of professional experience in backend development, with at least 1 year working directly with AI/LLM systems
- Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks)
- Solid experience with TypeScript and Remix framework
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI) and prompt engineering
- Practical knowledge of RAG systems (vector databases, embeddings, retrieval strategies)
- Experience with browser automation tools (Playwright or Selenium)
- Understanding of AI agent frameworks and patterns
- Proficiency with MongoDB for data modeling and queries
- Strong API development skills (RESTful design and implementation)
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services
- Strong problem-solving abilities for debugging complex automation workflows
Responsible For
- Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered automation workflows using our custom orchestration platform
- Build and optimize RAG systems for document processing and knowledge retrieval
- Implement LLM-based solutions for data extraction, classification, and intelligent decision-making
- Develop APIs and microservices that integrate AI capabilities with automation workflows
- Create browser automation scripts for web-based data extraction, form filling, and navigation
- Design prompt templates and multi-step reasoning chains for complex automation tasks
- Implement robust error handling, retry logic, and monitoring for production workflows
- Optimize LLM costs through effective prompt engineering, caching, and model selection
- Develop and maintain MongoDB schemas for automation state management and data storage
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into automated solutions
- Conduct testing and validation of AI model outputs for accuracy and reliability
- Build frontend interfaces using Remix for workflow management and monitoring
- Document automation workflows, AI prompts, integration patterns, and system architecture
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for AI automation development
